They promise world peace, cheap homes, better schools,
Then spend six months arguing over parliamentary rules.
Every scandal gets a makeover, every failure gets spun,
"Historic achievement!" What exactly have you done?!
They'll pose beside a pothole, they'll inspect a broken street,
Then vanish like a magician when it's time to compete.
"We put the people first!" yeah, I've heard that before,
Right before they lock the cabinet and disappear through the door!
They say they hear us.
They say they care.
They say we're all in this together.
Funny… they fly business class
while we're fighting over bus fare!
It's political Tinder, everybody's swiping,
Making secret deals while the TV keeps hyping.
"Never with that party!" now they're sharing a seat,
Guess principles are flexible when the numbers look sweet!
I'm in the voting booth with a pen and a prayer,
Looking at the ballot like, "Is a grown-up in there?"
I don't need another savior with a carefully styled grin,
I need someone who delivers what they promised to begin!
Less ego, less drama, less blame on the news,
More affordable living and fewer empty views.
