COVID Times #4

…And everything stood still. engines turned off with shame,

Airplanes were grounded in monstrous hangars, useless toys

Trains on rusted rails pointed forwards in vain

Nowhere to travel.

…And the grass grew greener

To take over concrete pavements,

Crawling, yet distrustful, upwards,

On wrought iron lifeless towers,

Abandoned fortresses.

…And the air was clean.

Though still shaking off polluted particles

Clouds poured anew, diamond clear rains

To water the creation, reborn

…And trees proudly stretched up

To spread young sprigs,

reaching out to the birds and pigeons

Nesting, feeding new lives,

Fledglings, taking first flights.

Afterwards,

Silent engines, shameful airplanes, aimless trains

Green grass, clean air, clear rains, proud trees, newly sprouted sprigs,

Nesting birds and pigeons, fledglings flying for the first time

All of a sudden were joined by bees of freedom

That broke out of jail-like hives

To produce pure golden-brown honey,

Neither to be abused, nor to be stolen from them.

Finally

Humans were caged, confined to their premises

Mumbling meaningless prayers to lesser gods,

dumbfounded are they, rebuked by Goddess Nature:

You should have listened to us,

We're better off without you.

Eventually

Old wise planet earth is raging no more

And we can go out in peace

To start all over again.

Don't you think so, my love?
